Brown, Seligman & Thomas Insurance traces its roots back to the 1920's, beginning first in Santa Rosa, a small rural town in eastern New Mexico. Sam Brown purchased the insurance agency in 1964. In 1989 Chuck Brown purchased the firm from Sam, and moved its headquarters to Albuquerque, NM. Following the acquisition of another local firm in 1995, the company's name was changed to Brown, Seligman & Thomas. Our clients and insurance company partners know us as BS&T.
From a small 3-person operation in 1989, the firm has grown to more than 20 employees in 2 offices (both located in the Metro Albuquerque area). Our BS&T family of companies is also expanding. We've launched AGSURE, an insurance agency specializing in the needs of Agribusiness, and we have opened another BST, a new office in Los Lunas, NM.
Despite our incredible growth, we've never forgotten the importance of personal relationships and trust, when it comes to handling the insurance needs of our clients. That's why all of our employees are licensed insurance agents, and why each of our valued clients has not only an assigned agent, but a full time in-office service agent as well. Our small town roots continue to guide our basic customer relationship philosophies as we move aggressively into the future.

BS&T has become a powerhouse in the insurance industry, on a regional basis. The agency has many clients throughout the West, including New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma. Additionally, BS&T plans to open marketing efforts in Idaho and Oregon during 2006.
BS&T is known as an innovator in the insurance industry. With a strong commitment to the use of automation and electronic commerce, the agency has become a leader in customer service, efficiency and marketing. In 2005, the agency launched its new website, bstins.com. The website is a first for New Mexico, and one of very few nationwide, that allows its "Registered Clients" to go online and manage their insurance program in a secure, electronic environment. Our clients can request changes, quotes, copies of policies, etc., 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Additionally, Mortgage Companies, Title Agents and Contractors can use the website to request changes to our client's accounts, in a format that allows us to capture the required information correctly and process it quickly.
